SBI opens new branch in Ladakh at an altitude of 10 thousand feet

Leh: The State Bank of India (SBI), which has the largest number of branches in the entire country, has established its new branch in Diskit village of Ladakh on Saturday, this village of Ladakh is present at an altitude of 10,310 feet above sea level. SBI Chairman Rajneesh Kumar launched this branch in Nubra Valley. The new branch of the country's largest state-run bank is located 80 km from the border of Pakistan border.

At the same time, it is 150 km from the Siachen border. The Diskit village of the Union Territory of Ladakh, which came into existence recently, has a population of about 6000. The bank has set a target for financial inclusion in the far-flung areas of Ladakh. Under this, 14 branches of SBI are located in the entire Ladakh region. Now SBI will open more branches in Ladakh after the formation of the new union territory. SBI has expressed its desire to take responsibility of the State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

The world's highest bank branch is located at an altitude of 14,393 feet above sea level in Pune's Macusani in Peru. Apart from this, the ATM of National Bank of Pakistan is located 15,397 feet above sea level in Khunjerab Pass on Pakistan-China border.
