State govt responsible for coal mine accident: Babulal Marandi

Ranchi: Former Jharkhand CM and BJP MLA party leader Babulal Marandi has targeted Hemant Sarkar. Former Chief Minister of the state and BJP Legislature Party leader Babulal Marandi on Thursday alleged that the state government and coal companies were responsible for the death of 5 persons, including 4 women, in the accident that took place on Monday in a vacant coal mine in Nirsa, Dhanbad.

BJP leader Babulal Marandi, who came to visit Gopinathpur coal mine in Nirsa, said that after coal mining, people suffering from poverty in the mines lying vacant go for coal mining on the indication of illegal mafia. The former CM alleged that the officers of the state government and persons of coal companies are in connivance with them, but the state government remains silent on this.

He alleged that the state government was solely responsible for the 5 deaths in the Gopinathpur mine. Marandi alleged that such illegal mining could not have taken place without the connivance of the police and the administration. Marandi met the families of the deceased and assured them that all possible compensation would be provided to them and the matter would also be taken up in the coming session of the Vidhan Sabha. Earlier on Monday night in Nirsa in Dhanbad district of Jharkhand, a major accident occurred due to debris collapse due to illegal coal mining in 3 open mines, in which 5 including 4 women were killed.
