Lucknow: A tragic incident unfolded in Ghaziabad on September 23, where a 50-year-old man named Shahir Husain took his own life, alleging harassment by former BSP MLA Wahab Chaudhary and an officer from the Muradnagar municipality. Prior to his suicide attempt, Husain recorded a video detailing the alleged harassment and accused several individuals, including former BSP MLA Wahab Chaudhary, the executive officer of the Muradnagar municipality, Abhishek Kumar, two advocates named Mumtaz and Imran, as well as another individual named Dharmi. Following the suicide attempt, Husain's wife, Walisa, rescued him and rushed him to a private hospital. Unfortunately, Husain did not survive and passed away during treatment. In response to her husband's allegations and the tragic incident, Walisa filed a formal complaint against the individuals mentioned in the video. The video recording of Husain's allegations has since gone viral on social media platforms. Commissioner of Police Ajay Kumar Mishra confirmed that an FIR has been registered against the accused based on the complaint filed by Husain's wife. The FIR invokes Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which pertains to abetment of suicide. Wahab Chaudhary, one of the accused, previously represented the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) as an MLA from the Muradnagar constituency from 2012 to 2017. Additionally, he is the spouse of the current chairperson of the Muradnagar municipality.It is worth noting that Wahab Chaudhary had previously been arrested in 2021 in connection with the murder case of an 18-year-old man in Ghaziabad. He, along with one of his nephews and another individual, faced allegations of involvement in the alleged killing.
