New Delhi: Due to the Lok Sabha Elections 2019, there are many prominent faces in the country's major political parties. In this sequence, Bollywood actor Sunny Deol also joined BJP. Earlier, a photo of BJP President Amit Shah was viral, in which Sunny Deol was also together. The 62-year-old actor had met BJP president Amit Shah last week amid speculation that he may contest from Amritsar or Gurdaspur. Sunny Deol’s father, Dharmendra had also contested a Lok Sabha poll and won from Rajasthan’s Bikaner in 2004. He has made a few appearances in 2019 Lok Sabha elections to campaign for his wife Hema Malini who is contesting from Mathura. Earlier, reports claimed that the BJP is contemplating to give a ticket to Sunny Deol from Amritsar seat from where Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had unsuccessfully contested in 2014. Jaitley was defeated by present Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh by a margin of over a lakh votes. Voting on all 13 parliamentary constituencies in Punjab is scheduled to be held in the last of the seven-phased elections on May 19.
