New Delhi: The Supreme Court has issued strict instructions to the Central government amid the ongoing local body elections in Tripura (Tripura). The court said, "Two companies of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) should be sent to Tripura soon. The court has also issued strict instructions to the Union Home Ministry to take immediate steps. The court has asked the print and electronic media to allow free election coverage in the absence of CCTV in the elections. In its direction, the court has said, "The State Election Commission and officials will abide by this order.''

The Supreme Court says, "The civic elections have begun, so the Central Security Force should be sent there immediately for free and fair elections. Voting should be ensured without any interruption. The court has asked DGP, IGP and MHA to review the situation continuously. In fact, the court in its direction has said, "The top officials will review the situation and suggest whether more security forces are needed there. The State Election Commission will ensure that adequate CAPF is held at each polling booth so that free and fair elections can be held.'

Meanwhile, advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, appearing for the Tripura government, said, "The voting is going on in complete peace and only petitioners and interventionists are obstructing it.
