New Delhi: The apex court will pronounce its verdict on Wednesday on the petition of 17 rebel MLAs from Congress and JDS of Karnataka. A three-judge bench headed by Justice NV Ramana will deliver the verdict. In fact, the petition has challenged the decision of the former Speaker of Karnataka Legislative Assembly to be disqualified. The Supreme Court reserved its decision after hearing all the parties on 25 October. Two trains crashed while changing tracks, 15 passengers died, more than 50 injured Earlier, senior advocate Rajiv Dhawan, appearing for JDS, had said that the Speaker of the Assembly has to do a deep test on the offer of resignation. On this, Kapil Sibal had said that this matter is very important, so far no court has conducted a trial on this issue. He requested to send the matter to the Constitution Bench. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing on behalf of the current speaker of the assembly, had proposed before the bench to reconsider the decision by the former assembly speaker to disqualify the MLAs. On the other hand, it was said on behalf of the rebel MLAs that the former speaker did not test that the MLAs are voluntarily resigning without any external pressure.
