'Supreme' hearing today on the plea of BRS leader Kavita in liquor scam, demand for stay on arrest

New Delhi: Today, the Supreme Court will hear a petition challenging the Enforcement Directorate (ED) summons in the liquor scam case involving veteran Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader and Telangana CM K.K. Chandrasekhar Rao's (KCR) daughter K. Kavita. Let us inform you that, in her petition, K.K. Kavita has challenged the ED's summons and sought a stay on her arrest. According to media reports, a bench of Justice Ajay Rastogi and Justice Bela M. Trivedi will hear the petition of BRS leader Kavita. It is noteworthy that, on March 15, the apex court agreed to hear Kavita's plea challenging the summons issued by the central probe agency ED in the Delhi liquor scam case and seeking protection from arrest.

Let us tell you that 44-year-old Kavita appeared before the ED on March 11 to record her statement in the Delhi Excise Policy scam case. The ED had once again summoned him for questioning on March 16. Kavita was questioned for the third and last time on March 21 for about 10 hours in connection with the scam. Let us tell you that K. Kavita has rejected all the allegations levelled against her.
