Patna: Former Deputy Chief Minister and veteran BJP leader Sushil Modi resigned from the membership of Bihar Legislative Council on Thursday. According to the information, BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi has resigned from the membership of Bihar Legislative Council due to being elected as a member of the Upper House. Sushil Kumar Modi himself has given this information by tweeting today. He is said to have resigned the Chairman of Bihar Legislative Council. BJP leader Sushil Modi said through another tweet that he will be sworn in as a Rajya Sabha member in the Rajya Sabha chamber at Parliament House on 12 December. He told that he will leave for oath-taking place tomorrow i.e. on Friday. This swearing-in ceremony will be held in the Rajya Sabha Chamber on the ground floor of Parliament House at 4 pm on the afternoon of 12 December. It is said that Vice-President of India, Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu will swear in BJP leader Sushil Modi as Rajya Sabha member. Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Sushil Modi was elected unopposed in the Rajya Sabha by-election on 7 December. Where Sushil Modi was given a certificate after being elected a Rajya Sabha MP. CM Nitish Kumar was also present with him on this occasion.
