Sushma Swaraj thrashes Donald Trump says, India didn’t sign Paris climate deal for money

New Delhi: “Not because of greed..not because of fear” but because of its “commitment to protecting the environment”, said External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to Donald Trump who made biting allegations that India agreed to the Paris climate pact to get “billions and billions and billions of dollars in foreign aid”.

Completing three years of Modi Government, Swaraj was infuriated by such a claim and brought to everybody’s notice that the commitment was 5,000 years old. Rivers, trees, and mountains are worshiped in India. This is India’s ethos, it is our cultural heritage. “If someone says we signed the pact due to the lure of money and pressure from someone, it is wrong. I reject both these allegations", Swaraj added.

India ideology and principles shouldn’t be doubted and it will stay in the pact irrespective of whether the USA stays in it or not.

Expressing her fury on Pakistan for creating clashing conditions, she denied the probability of meeting scheduled on the sidelines of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Astana, Kazakhstan on June 8-9.

Sushma was highly disappointed by counter actions done by Pakistan and recalled terror attack on the Pathankot airbase after Modi’s sudden visit to Lahore, the arrest of former Indian Navy officer Kulbhushan Jadhav who has been sentenced to death by a Pakistan military court.

She was very firm on the resolution of solvingKashamir’s issue bilaterally and denied to take the issue to ICJ.

Disgruntled on China blocking India and airspace incursion by it, she displayed her determination to raise the issue with China and to be a part of the NCG positively.
