Chennai: Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin was sworn in as an MLA in the assembly on Tuesday. He was earlier sworn in as the CM of the state for the first time on Friday. Stalin was sworn in as a minister along with 33 other ministers. Stalin was unanimously elected leader of the party's legislature party last week before becoming CM. Stalin's cabinet has 19 former ministers while 15 new faces have been inducted. Issuing the first order after assuming office as CM, MK Stalin also announced to bring the treatment of coronavirus in private hospitals under the preview of the Government Insurance Scheme to provide relief to such people. On the other hand, rice ration card holders were announced to given Rs 4,000 as corona relief amount, cut the price of milk, and travel free of cost for women in government transport buses. The DMK has won 133 seats in the assembly elections and its other allies, including the Congress, have won a total of 159 seats in the 234-member assembly. AIADMK has won 66 seats, while its allies BJP and PMK won 4 and 5 seats respectively. Tamil Nadu was under AIADMK rule for the last 10 years.
