Tamil Nadu elections: CM Palaniswamy reaching Delhi to discuss alliance with PM Modi

Chennai: Even though the dates of Tamil Nadu assembly elections have not yet been announced, political turmoil has intensified in the state. While the Congress and DMK have decided to enter the fray, the AIADMK-BJP alliance may be sealed. CM E Palaniswamy of Tamil Nadu is arriving in Delhi on Monday on a two-day visit.

He can meet PM Modi and brainstorm on the electoral status of the state as soon as the alliance is implemented. Late Jayalalithaa's friend VK Sasikala, who is a CM from Tamil Nadu, is expected to come out of jail on January 27. This could affect the politics of AIDMK and Tamil Nadu. Palaniswamy's visit to Delhi is considered to be very important as he has been made a CM face at the AIADMK General Council meeting earlier this month. Palaniswamy had reviewed the ongoing work on Jayalalithaa's Phoenix-style memorial at Marina Beach in Chennai last week. The AIADMK government is planning to launch the memorial on Jayalalithaa's birth anniversary (February 24), for which CM Palanaswamy can also discuss with PM Modi of the country and invite her to join her.
