Tamil Nadu health secretary asks Collectors to stay alert

Tamil Nadu health secretary urges people to use mask mandatorily and asks collectors to follow same protocols as followed during peak times. Tamil Nadu state which was one of the highest covid-19 positive case provider is standardised to a good level through continued hard effort of the health department and support from the people.

In a recent meeting,Health Secretary showed his concern about enforcement of masks usage was extremely poor in public places, and he urged Collectors to ensure that meetings with traders’ associations continued to ensure self-regulation in addition to visible action of collecting fines by police, health, revenue and local body officials. “Areas showing a spurt and ensuring containment in clusters such as construction site cluster, family or street cluster or event/function-based clusters or worksite-based clusters should be the basis of focused work by the health and local body teams,” he said. 

In the meeting he alerted that the next 14 to 28 days were important in the fight and that focused testing and fever campus should resume in full vigour as was done before the festival holidays. The festival time made inflow of people from other places and the winter alerts everyone about the increased spread.
