Know some special things on Tarabai's birth anniversary

Tarabai Bhosale ruled the Maratha Empire of India from 1700 to 1708. She was the queen of Chhatrapati Rajaram Bhosale, and daughter-in-law of Shivaji, the founder of the empire. She is acclaimed for her role in keeping alive the resistance against Mughal occupation in Maratha areas after the death of her husband. As regent, she commanded war against Aurangzeb's forces. Tarabai was skilled in the cavalry movement and gave herself strategic momentum during the wars. She personally led the war and continued the fight against the Mughals.

The Mughals were offered a true in such a way that it was immediately rejected by the Mughal emperor and Tarabai continued to resist the Maratha. By 1705, the Marathas had crossed the Narmada river and immediately retreated and launched small attacks in Malwa. In 1706, Tarabai was captured by the Mughal army for a period of 4 days but escaped after the Mughal soldier bribed a Mughal soldier to avoid allowing him to give away some expensive jewelry, including his bangles, which was estimated at Rs 10 million himself. The Maratha country was relieved by the news of the death of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, who was killed in Khuldabad in Aurangabad in 1707.

To divide the Maratha, the Mughals released Shahji, Sambhaji's son and Tarabai's nephew on certain terms. He immediately challenged Tarabai and Shivaji II to lead Maratha politics. Shahu eventually brushed aside Peshwa Balaji Vishwanath's diplomacy and Tarabai thanks to his legal status. She established a rival court in Kolhapur in 1709 but was removed by Rajaram's second widow, Rajasabai, who made her son, Sambha Ji II, sit on the throne. Tarabai and her son were captured by Sambha Ji II. Shivaji II died in 1726. Tarabai later moved to Satara in 1730 in harmony with Chhatrapati Sahu.
