New Delhi: Former Team India captain Kapil Dev's reaction to PM Narendra Modi's meeting with Tokyo Olympians and encouraging athletes who brought honors to the country in 2020 has surfaced. He praised PM Modi and tweeted that PM Modi won the hearts of sportspersons from all sportspersons.

 

 

PM Modi had also encouraged the students by visiting schools during his meeting with the Olympic Players. Reacting to the former captain's tweet, PM Modi thanked him and said Kapil dev has always been a source of inspiration for those who like the game. At the same time, PM Modi said that together we have to take Indian sports to new heights.

 

 

In a column written in The Statesman, the captain, who won team India the 1983 World Cup, wrote, "It is not known whether a PM has ever said that he wants to create a culture of sports in the country and appealed to the parents of youngsters who want to play to encourage their children. PM Modi may be the first person to do so. He showed how this is done by taking an active interest in our elite.''
