Indian team member accused of molestation, this revealed in investigation

New Delhi: The Indian team's tour of West Indies was fantastic. The team had won all the series played on this tour. During this cricket series, a junior member of the support staff of the Indian team was accused of molesting a hotel worker. The incident came before the first Test match between India and West Indies to be played in Antiga. Now the board has put forth its view on this matter.

On the incident during the West Indies tour, Team India manager Sunil Subramaniam sent an email to the Committee of Administrators on September 25 and complained about the incident. Sunil later withdrew his complaint and said that the accused should be talked about. Now a board official admitted that such an incident took place at the team hotel, but it was a case of mistaken identity. This is the reason that the Antiga Police, after investigation, freed the support staff member from the charge.

A board official said that after investigation, the case turned out to be of mistaken identity. The hotel employee who was abused was shown pictures of all the support staff of Team India, but she could not identify any of them. Apart from this, no member related to Team India had stayed in the room number that the victim had talked about.
