The Telangana government has allotted land worth over Rs 80 crore to the Railway Coach Factory

Hyderabad : Panchayati Raj Minister Erabelli Dayakar Rao on Wednesday handed over 150.05 acres of land to the Railways to set up a railway coach factory at Kazipet in Warangal district.

"As the people of the former Warangal district have had the dream of wanting a coach factory for decades, we are giving them 150.05 acres instead of the 60 acres requested by the railway authorities," he said. The price of land handed over to the railways is over Rs 80 crore.

The approved coach factory near Kazipet railway station was shifted to another state and later a railway wagon overhauling workshop was proposed. "We have requested the railway authorities for a coach factory to provide more employment opportunities to the local youth in the district," Rao said.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, Minister for Municipal Administration in collaboration with the district KT Ramarao ministers, MPs, MLAs in New Delhi as a delegation to request the central government to set up a coach factory Kazipet.

The land adjoining the Sri Sitaram Chandra Swamy Temple on the outskirts of Madikonda village was acquired by the district administration from the endowment department.
