Hyderabad : Professor at Telangana State Agricultural University. Developed by Jaishankar. Sona Chur, a type of rice known as diabetic rice, is now cultivated in other states like West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. It is currently cultivated in 25 lakh acres in the state.

This information was given by Dr. Jagadeeshwar, Head of Research, University. Various journals have confirmed that this rice has a very low glycemic index. The rice is being cultivated on 10 lakh acres in other states, the researchers said.

A wide variety of quality is found in Spicy gold. Its cultivation produces more rice. It is also delicious. Those who like to eat fine rice can use it. This information was given by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Praveen Rao. The Agriculture and Agriculture and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APECA) has shown interest in exporting this rice to other countries, including other states.

Small traders from Telangana are selling this rice. It is currently selling at Rs 100 to Rs 145 per kg. Farmers have to sell it for 40 to 45 rupees. Farmers who maintain their rice stocks are getting better support prices.
