The incident took place at gallooh stadium. Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih informed on Twitter that the Maldivian police have started investigating the case. The matter is being taken seriously. He has assured that whoever is responsible for this incident will be punished.
According to media reports, some people doing yoga have also accused the crowd who entered the stadium of threatening them. He said the crowd was asking him to vacate the stadium immediately. However, later the police handled the situation and controlled the situation by releasing tear gas. The event of Yoga and Meditation was organized at the stadium at 6:30 pm on behalf of the Indian Cultural Centre in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Development of India. Many people also took part in it. But it could not be continued due to the disturbance of the fundamentalists. Several diplomats, government officials and Maldivian ministers were also present at the event.
