USA: All Twitter users without a Blue subscription have text-based two-factor authentication (2FA) disabled. The social media site explained in a blog post that this was done to prevent inappropriate use of the feature. Starting March 20, only Blue subscribers will be able to use text-based 2FA. Even accounts with legacy verification will no longer have access to it. Twitter has changed significantly since Elon Musk took over.
