Tharoor accepts his failure, Says the revival of Congress has begun

NEW DELHI: After fully accepting his humility,  Runner-up in the Congress president poll, Shashi Tharoor on Wednesday thanked his supporters, and said that the elections will galvanise the party and its revival has commenced.

Mallikarjun  Kharge got 7,897 votes, while Dr. Shashi Tharoor managed to secure mere 1,072.

"I've consistently held the opinion that the party must ultimately become stronger as a result of these elections, no matter how they turn out. I am incredibly personally satisfied that this has been the case. Our democratic race has sparked energy at all levels and sparked a positive and constructive conversation about reform, which I believe will be beneficial to the party going forward "In a letter, Tharoor wrote.

"For their remarkable efforts against unfathomable obstacles to keep our campaign continuing," he hailed his volunteer team of party members. "I also commended the Chief Election Authority, Madhusudan Mistry, and his colleagues for their efforts in making this possible." "It is our responsibility to guide the country toward the prosperous, democratic future that our Republic's forefathers had in mind. In light of the assault on our most valuable values by the ruling party and the forces it has unleashed, the ideals of a pluralist, prosperous, and egalitarian India that served as the inspiration for Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Dr. Ambedkar must be fought for with renewed determination,"  he said.

Tharoor stated that he is eager to tackle the difficulties ahead with his fellow Congressmen. After falling short against Mallikarjun Kharge, Tharoor declared, "I believe the resuscitation of our party has genuinely begun today."
