New Delhi: The counting of votes for the post of National President of Congress is going to be held today i.e. on Wednesday (October 19). The name of the new chairman will be announced after the counting of votes. With the announcement of the new president, the party will get a president from outside the Gandhi family after 24 years. Voting for the election was held on Monday. Gandhi family loyalist Mallikarjun Kharge has the upper hand in the election for the post of President. It is being told that the Gandhi family has given full support to Kharge from behind the scenes. 

Along with this, many big leaders of the party were present at the time of Kharge's nomination. In such a situation, Kharge's victory in this election is almost certain. A formal announcement of Kharge's victory will be made after the counting of votes on Wednesday. Let us tell you that Kharge is considered a loyalist of the Gandhi family. If he becomes the president, the influence of the Gandhi family will be seen in his decisions. He himself said on Sunday that if he becomes the president, he will have no shame in taking the advice and cooperation of the Gandhi family in the affairs of the party. Because, the Gandhi family contributed significantly to the party.

Let us tell you that 9,915 delegates had the right to vote for the post of party president. According to Madhusudan Mistry, chairman of the Central Election Authority, who is handling the election, 9,457 delegates exercised their franchise on Monday. In this way, about 96 per cent polling took place peacefully in 67 polling booths.
