Chandigarh: Bomb blasts have been threatened in Bathinda, Punjab. Six letters sent to politicians, businessmen and other officials, there has been a threat of bomb blasts on June 7. SSP Gurneet Singh has told that the letters have been sent through post. One letter is hand written while the rest are photocopies. After receiving the letter, the Punjab Police has become alert. The letter also mentions the names of 10 places where bomb blasts have been threatened. According to media reports, it has been said in the threatening letter that explosions will be carried out at Fort, Railway Station, Adesh Hospital, SSP Office near Secretariat, Bathinda Jail, ITI Flyover, Mittal Mall, New Car Parking, Nirankari Bhawan and Kisan Dharna site. It is written in the letter that the essential items for the blast have been delivered and now only God can save Bathinda. It is further written in the letter that the blasts in Amritsar were just trailers. SSP Singh has told that an FIR has been lodged against the person who wrote the letter. The police will soon arrest the accused. SSP Gurneet Singh has put the police stations of the entire district on high alert. The policemen have been asked to search every nook and corner. Vehicles and suspicious persons are being searched in every area. People have also been requested to report suspicious persons or goods to the police.
