Govt entrusted the responsibility of implementing liquor ban to 'Guruji', ruckus

Patna: People in Bihar continue to lose their lives due to consumption of spurious liquor and the recent incidents of Nalanda, Chhapra and Buxar testify to how more than three dozen people have died so far due to consumption of spurious liquor at these three places. Meanwhile, it was recently reported that the responsibility of implementing the prohibition law in Bihar more stringently has now been given to 'government teachers'. That is, government teachers and principals have been given the responsibility of identifying the liquor mafia and drunkards and sharing the news about them with the administration.

Now the statement of Bihar Education Minister Vijay Chaudhary has come out about it. On the controversy over the order, he said that the state government has already appealed to all the people of Bihar to inform the administration if they receive any news about the liquor mafia or drunkards. Teachers are also a part of the people of Bihar and the education department has written a letter only to them seeking their cooperation on the prohibition law.   Recently, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department, Sanjay Kumar has written a letter to all the Regional Deputy Directors of Education, the District Education Officer and other officers of the state. The letter states that there are reports that spurious liquor is still being consumed by certain persons. It is very important to stop it. He further wrote in the letter, "In this regard, directions are given that a meeting of the Education Committee in primary and middle schools should be convened and necessary information regarding de-addiction should be given. The letter also directs to ensure that the school does not use the school premises after the school term.
