Khatu Shyam temple priest duped of Rs 3.5 crore, accused arrested

Jaipur: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Delhi Police has arrested a thug who duped the temple of about Rs 3.32 crore from a priest. The accused has cheated the priest of Khatushyam temple in Rajasthan and several of his relatives. The victims have said that the thug had talked about giving a huge profit by putting all this money in the stock market. When the money was not received for a long time, a complaint was lodged with the police in this regard.

Manish Bohra and his associates, accused of cheating, also do stock market business. He had assured the temple priest and his relatives that if he put his money in the stock market through different big companies, he would benefit immensely. It was even being claimed that their money could double. Trapped in his words, the priest and his relatives gave about Rs 3.32 crore to the thugs.

Manish Bohra had informed through email that a lot of shares have been purchased from his money. However, the accused did not give any receipt or any other proof of shares worth Rs 3 crore to the victims. When suspicious, a little investigation was conducted and it was found that no shares were purchased from his money. The matter went back to the police. Following this, the police arrested Manish Bohra from Jodhpur in Rajasthan.
