Chandigarh: Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann has taken a significant decision where he has announced to end VIP culture in jails. il will be converted into jail management blocks to end VIP culture and ensure the smooth functioning of jail staff. CM Bhagwant Mann said that in case of negligence in jail, the concerned officers will be held accountable and strict action will be taken. He said that we have recovered 710 mobile phones of gangsters from the jail premises. We have not only recovered mobile phones but have also taken action against those who keep mobiles inside. We have formed an SIT to investigate it. An FIR is also being held in this, along with we have also suspended some officers. Earlier, the Aam Aadmi Party-led Punjab government had cut the security of eight senior state leaders, including former state CM Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, former state Congress president Sunil Jakhar and former union minister and MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal. In the order issued by the government, it has been told that a total of 127 policemen and 9 vehicles have been withdrawn from the security of these leaders.
