Chandigarh: The Congress is organising a 3-day 'Nav Sankalp Shivir' in Udaipur to prepare a roadmap for the revival of the party. Meanwhile, he has suffered a major setback in Punjab. Senior Congress leader and former Punjab President Sunil Jakhar have quit the party. He announced his exit from the Congress live from his official Facebook page. The former Punjab Congress president questioned the politics being played in the Congress keeping in mind the caste equation and attacked the high command. He accused the Congress high command of hearing a particular leader of Punjab on the issue of the appointment of a chief minister after the removal of Captain Amarinder Singh. Sunil Jakhar took Ambika Soni's name and demanded Sonia Gandhi take action against him.

At the same time, Sunil Jakhar said that 3 generations of his family served the Congress for 50 years. Even after this, his heart was broken by being "stripped of all party posts" for "not following the party line". Let us tell you that recently Congress had taken disciplinary action against Sunil Jakhar and removed him from all the posts in the party. The Punjab Congress had recommended his suspension from the party for 2 years, on which Sonia Gandhi had to make a decision. Sunil Jakhar had earlier decided to hold a press conference in Udaipur on May 13. He had also booked a flight ticket for this, but later changed his mind and spoke his mind on Facebook Live at 12 noon on May 14.

Recently, Sunil Jakhar was sent a notice by the Congress for his alleged rhetoric about the party's CM candidate Charanjit Singh Channi in the run-up to the assembly elections. He did not respond to this notice. Jakhar had said that the Congress high command should have discussed with him before sending the notice. That's why he didn't respond to the notice. He had made it clear that he would not bow down before the Congress high command.
