The relentless downpour brought normal operations to a grinding halt in states like Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, and others. Due to severe water-logging, flood-like situations, and landslides, the Northern Railway reported the cancellation of twenty trains in the region.

Tragically, the incessant rain has claimed the lives of more than 20 individuals in the northern part of India, triggering landslides and flash floods in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, among others.

Here are the details of train services affected by the heavy rainfall:

The following train routes have been closed due to water-logging and flooding: Ambala-New Morinda, Nangal Dam-Anandpur-Sahib, and Keeratpur Sahib-Bharatgarh.

The following twenty trains have been cancelled due to the heavy rainfall: Ferozpur Cantt Express, Amritsar Superfast Express, and Chandigarh Intercity Express.

The following trains have been diverted due to the rainfall: Daulatpur Chowk Express and Amritsar Express.

The following trains have been cancelled for Monday:

14629 – Sutlej Express 12411 – Amritsar Intercity-Express 12242 – Chandigarh SF Express 14614 – SAS Nagar Mohali Express 12058 – New Delhi Jan Shatabdi Express 14506 – Amritsar Express 14505 – Nangal Dam Express

Due to heavy rains, schools in New Delhi were closed. Additionally, schools will also remain closed in Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Dehradun in Uttarakhand on Monday.

The heavy rainfall has caused rivers to surge to dangerously high levels, leading to the collapse of bridges and the destruction of hutments. People were rescued with the aid of helicopters. The following trains have been cancelled in response to the heavy rainfall in northern India.
