New Delhi: India is running the world's largest vaccination campaign. Since June 21, the government has introduced a new vaccination policy, since which the vaccination program has intensified. More than 32 crore doses have been given so far, but at the same time, the fake vaccine business is also flourishing rapidly in the country. After Maharashtra, there have been cases of spurious vaccines in West Bengal also. TMC MP Mimi Chakraborty has fallen ill after being administered a fake vaccine at a similar vaccination camp. The first such major case came to light in Mumbai. The vaccination camp was organized on May 30 at Hiranandani Heritage Society in Mumbai's Kandivli area. 390 people were vaccinated. The fraud came to light when no post-vaccination symptoms were found in anyone after the vaccine was received. People's suspicions deepened when vaccination certificates were issued. When the society members inquired about the names of the hospitals mentioned in the certificate, it was found that the hospital had not set up any such camp in the society. One such case came to light from West Bengal also. Here, a man, calling himself an IAS officer, organized vaccination camps at different places in which many people were vaccinated. TMC MP and actress Mimi Chakraborty also became the victim of the fake vaccination. On Mimi's complaint, the police arrested an accused who revealed that the camp had been given an antibiotic dose instead of a corona vaccine. In Mumbai, two persons belonging to a company called SP Events in the society where people have received spurious vaccines contacted the society member and asked him to set up a vaccination camp in the society itself. On 30th May, a camp was organized in which 390 people were vaccinated and Rs.1260 of a dose was charged. No immunization certificate was issued to anyone during this period.
