Dehradun: BJP MLA from Kotdwar in Uttarakhand, Ritu Bhushan Khanduri on Saturday became the Speaker of the 5th Legislative Assembly of Uttarakhand. She has been elected unopposed. Till 12 noon on Friday, no party or member has made any nomination for the Assembly Secretary. On Saturday, the process of election started in the assembly from 11 am in the hall.

He was present from all the members of the Legislative Assembly on this occasion. Senior MLA and Protem Speaker Banshidhar Bhagat played the role of Speaker of the Assembly till the elections were held. Governor Lt. Gen. Gurmeet Singh (Sen.) has appointed him as the Speaker till the election period. According to the agenda, Banshidhar Bhagat announced the election of Ritu Khanduri as Speaker of the Legislative Assembly unopposed.

Thereafter, he addressed and then the newly elected President Ritu took the seat. Premchand Agarwal, Bharat Singh Choudhary, Kailash Chandra Gahatodi, Satpal Maharaj, Umesh Sharma Kau, Khajan Das, Munna Singh Chauhan, Sarita Arya, Durgeshwar Lal, Chandan Ram Das, Pramod Nainwal, Savita Kapoor, Mahesh Jeena, Bishan Singh, Madan Kaushik and Vinod Kandari is the proponent of Ritu Khanduri for the post of Speaker of the Assembly. Anil Nautiyal, Shiv Arora, Dewan Singh Bisht, Rekha Arya, Renu Bisht, Suresh Gadiya, Brij Bhushan Gairola, Ram Singh Kaida, Shaila Rani Rawat, Suresh Singh Chauhan, Fakir Ram, Mohan Singh, Shakti Lal Shah, Saurabh Bahuguna, Subodh Uniyal and Bhupal Ram Tamta Samarth is a member.
