A new story of removing the pain of humanity and others has emerged from Sangrur in Punjab, where a big-hearted policeman is giving a big lesson to everyone.
Sangrur SSP Mandeep Singh Sidhu has decided to contribute a part of his salary to the education of girls from disadvantaged agricultural backgrounds in Punjab. Giving information in this regard on the social media platform Koo App, Sidhu wrote, "I will donate Rs 51,000 from my first salary as SSP of Sangrur.''
SSP Sidhu, in a video shared on the micro-blogging platform Koo App, said, "After this, 21,000 every month, as long as I am here, for the education of those girls who are unable to continue their studies due to financial stress."
SSP Sidhu's efforts under the 'Padhta Punjab' campaign will go a long way in educating the daughters of farmers who committed suicide in the area due to financial constraints. The police officer himself belongs to a farmer background and is now posted in Sangrur for the third time. He believes that any barrier that prevents access to education, especially for girls, should be erased by society.

He said that in a week two big industrial houses have come with him. One of them wanted to contribute Rs 21 lakh. Another industrialist handed over cheques of around Rs 26 lakh for students of classes 9-12 of 13 government schools in Dhuri. These students will not have to pay any fees this year. SSP Mandeep Singh Sidhu said, "This is the third time that I have been posted as SSP in this district.''
Under Sangh Shakti 181, Punjab Police is doing different tasks across the state by making the women of the community aware of their rights and educating them. The Punjab Police posted on social media app Koo that Ludhiana Rural Police conducted awareness seminars in government schools in Dhulkot and Hathur villages, where students were made aware of helpline 181/112/1091 against crime against children and women.

Punjab Police wrote in another Koo post that Amritsar Commissionerate Police organised an awareness seminar at the Government ITI Mahila Beri Gate, Amritsar where girl students were made aware of Shakti App, Cyber Crime, functioning of Women's Help Desk and helpline 181/112/1091.
Punjab Police has been at the forefront of empowering girls and women and creating awareness about their rights through campaigns like Saanjh Shakti. They have been making people aware of crimes against women and children by organizing awareness seminars in government schools and rural areas.
