Mumbai: A shocking revelation has been made in Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra, amid rising corona cases. In fact, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) quoted data as saying that 96 per cent of patients on oxygen support in Mumbai hospitals are those who have not been vaccinated. Doctors in the city also admitted that those who have not received the vaccine so far are required oxygen support or additional assistance. Most of these persons are above 50 years of age. In view of the same figures up to 6th January, BMC Commissioner Iqbal Chahal said that 96 per cent of the 1900 corona patients admitted to oxygen beds are those who have not been vaccinated while only four per cent are vaccinated. On the other hand, a doctor clarified that many people have started taking vaccines after the cases have gone up. He said that an in-depth study on the issue has not yet been conducted, but the high figure of patients without vaccinating on oxygen support clearly indicates how those who do not get vaccinated are most vulnerable to corona. 40,925 corona cases in Maharashtra:- The same cases of corona are on the rise in Maharashtra. 40,925 new corona cases were registered in the state on Friday. More than half of these patients are in Mumbai city alone. Mumbai has reported 20,971 new patients in the last 24 hours.
