BANGALORE: Karnataka Police have reportedly arrested 3 persons, including 2 women in connection with trying forceful religious conversion in Bangalore on the pretext of Christmas and New Year celebrations, police said on Friday, December 30. The case has been registered under the Right to Freedom of Religion Act. Police mentioned that Nelson, a resident of J.J. Nagar locality in Bangalore invited people of the locality for the Christmas & New Year celebrations and tried for conversion. The police summoned the accused persons and subsequently questioned them. The accused have told police that they have not tried to convert them and they just spoke about Jesus Christ. Nelson was reportedly aided by two women who came to his home as guests. One localite, Krishnamurthy registered a complaint with the police alleging that the three people were attempting to convert people. The accused also said that they did not have anything to do with religious conversion.
