Dehradun: The dead body of the brave soldier Lal Dev Bahadur of Uttarakhand, who was martyred in Laddakh, was transported to Udham Singh Nagar by army vehicle on Wednesday morning after three days. The dead body of martyr Dev Bahadur arrived at 0725 hrs in the morning. As soon as the ambulance arrived, a huge crowd of people gathered there. All the people were eager to get a glimpse of the martyr. After about two hours the ambulance stopped at Lalpur. There were long lines of people on both sides of the road. The women stood to see the dead body from the rooftops. MLA Rajesh Shukla was walking with the body. The army aircraft from Ladakh had left Delhi on Tuesday for the martyr's body. The last rites of the martyr Dev Bahadur will be held at the cremation ground between Kanakpur and Raghavanagar. SDM Vivek Prakash said in his statement that the body of martyr Dev Bahadur will be kept for the last darshan at the primary school in Gaurikala here. There will be a wreath offered by the Governor. Minister Yashpal Arya will pay tribute on behalf of the state government. The SDM further said that the army's special band has come from Haldwani for the final salute to the martyr. Meanwhile, the whole state has stood up in a long queue to see the heroic son for the last time.
