Pradip Baruah has been nominated to the board of directors of the Uttarakhand Tea Development Board

Pradip Baruah has been nominated to the board of directors of the Uttarakhand Tea Development Board, Government of Uttarakhand.

A chief advisory officer of the Tocklai Tea Research Institute under the Tea Research Association in Tocklai, Baruah said that the post was an honorary one and that he would be called on to provide guidance to the nascent tea industry of Uttarakhand. He said, “I will be based here but will attend board meetings when required. Basically, my role will be to provide direction to the tea industry there"

The Uttarakhand Tea Development Board and its constituents are members of the Tea Research Association. Baruah has over 30 years of experience in the tea industry, He has also wrote several books on tea including, ‘Tea: A Wonder Drink for Health and Wellness,’  and ‘Pioneering Indigenous tea planters of Assam’.
