Tragic Accident Claims Lives of Three Indian Women in the United States

Washington: Three Indian women from Gujarat tragically lost their lives in an accident in the United States when their speeding vehicle lost control, crashed into a divider, and soared 20 feet into the air before colliding with trees on the opposite side of a bridge. The incident occurred on Interstate 85 in Greenville County, South Carolina.

The victims have been identified as Rekhaben Dilipbhai Patel, Sangeetaben Bhaveshbhai Patel, and Manishaben Rajendrabhai Patel, all from Borsad tehsil of Anand district in Gujarat. The vehicle was found completely wrecked, wedged against a tree and shattered into multiple pieces.

Chief Deputy Coroner Mike Ellis from the Greenville County Coroner's Office, speaking to foxcarolina.com, described the horrifying scene, stating, "When the vehicle jumped all four lanes of traffic, it actually struck trees probably at least 20 feet above the ground." He added, "When you have got family, probably related, three deceased is nothing that you want to ever see." The driver of the vehicle was injured and transported to the hospital for treatment.

According to Ellis, the SUV was traveling at a speed above the posted limit. "Very seldom do you see a vehicle that leaves the roadway at such a high rate of speed that it jumps 4–6 lanes of traffic and lands in the trees approximately 20 feet," he explained. He further mentioned that no other vehicles were involved in the accident, indicating that the high speed of the vehicle was the sole cause of the tragic incident.
