Tragic Incident Unfolds: Mother and Infant Daughter Engulfed in Flames

Lucknow: A tragic incident has shocked the residents of Hamirpur, UP, as a 28-year-old mother and her six-month-old infant daughter were found engulfed in flames on Monday morning. The mother reportedly set herself and her daughter on fire, resulting in critical injuries for both. Despite efforts to save them, both the mother and daughter succumbed to their injuries and passed away while receiving treatment at a medical college.

The incident occurred in Pahari Dera village under the jurisdiction of Muskura police station. Uttam, the husband of the deceased, had been married to Kiran for four years. Kiran, who hailed from Gauharari village in Mahoba, was with her six-year-old daughter Aaradhya when the tragic incident unfolded. Kiran allegedly doused herself and her daughter with a flammable substance and set them ablaze around 7:30 am. Upon witnessing the horrifying scene, Uttam fled the spot.

Neighbors rushed to help and took the severely burnt mother and daughter to the Community Health Center (CHC). However, due to the severity of their injuries, they were later referred to Orai Medical College, where they ultimately succumbed to their burns. Dr. Manulika Verma, a physician at CHC, confirmed that both victims had sustained burns covering approximately 80 percent of their bodies.

Upon learning of the incident, Kiran's mother Sukhwati arrived at the hospital. She mentioned that Kiran had recently returned from her parents' home and had plans to visit a temple on the day of the incident. Meanwhile, Police Inspector Shashi Pandey stated that no formal complaint had been lodged yet, and further actions would be taken based on any complaints received.
