Indore: The trial run of the metro train will be held in Indore, the financial capital of Madhya Pradesh, in September this year. The metro line will pass underground from the High Court to the airport. There is also a proposal to extend the metro line from Pithampur to Ujjain in view of the upcoming Simhastha. A meeting was held on Saturday to review and discuss the progress of two important projects in the district. Ministers and people's representatives were also present in the meeting along with all the top officers. In the meeting held at Atulya IT Park, Manish Singh, MD, Metro Rail Corporation and MPIDC, informed about the Economic Corridor with Metro and the new Sector-7 of Pithampur Industrial Area. He presented the details of development from land pulling in the new industrial area of Pithampur. Suggestions were also sought from public representatives regarding the extension of Metro from Indore to Sanwer to Ujjain and from Indore to Pithampur and its alignment. Singh said that the trial run of Metro in Indore will be held in the month of September. Metro work is going on at a fast pace. The idea of laying an underground line from the High Court to the airport is underway. In the meeting, all the people's representatives gave their consent regarding changing the alignment of this line. In the past, people from Kothari market to all other areas had also expressed objection regarding the alignment. Now it is being told that from Indore High Court Metro will run underground, this line will reach in front of the airport via Municipal Corporation Workshop, Chhota Ganapati, Bada Ganapati, Ramchandra Nagar. Five stations will be built on these routes. In the meeting, Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silavat said that expansion of Metro from Indore to Ujjain and from Indore to Pithampur is very necessary. The CM has already announced in this regard. In such a situation, the work should also start soon. MD Singh said that the work of feasibility survey has been completed on Indore to Ujjain road and Pithampur road. He said that it has been proposed to construct stations on the Indore-Ujjain route including Ujjain at Sanwer Dharampuri, Lavkush square etc. Similarly, discussion was also held in connection with the Pithampur route. Minister Silavat told that having Indore to Ujjain Metro can be beneficial in the coming Simhastha to be held in 2028. Devotees will get help to reach Ujjain. Having Metro up to Pithampur will directly benefit the employees, students and other citizens.
