Twins born in California 15 minutes apart, but in different years

Twins may be very different from one another, but they do share one thing in common: their birthdays. A fresh set of twins, on the other hand, will have birth certificates from two distinct years, 2021 and 2022! Reason? While they were just minutes apart in birth, one came on New Year's Eve and the other after the clock struck midnight.

The hospital Natividad announced the birth of a newborn girl named "Aylin Yolanda Trujillo as the area's first baby of 2022," calling it a "1 in 2 million probability." Her twin brother, "Alfredo Antonio Trujillo," was born 15 minutes earlier on December 31, 2021, at 11:45 p.m.

Fatima Madrigal, the twins' mother, said in a statement published by the medical hospital in Salinas, California, "It's odd to me that they are twins and have different birthdays." "She arrived at midnight, which astonished and delighted me."

"Every year, roughly 120,000 twins are born in the United States, accounting for little over 3% of all births. However, twins with different birthdays are very unusual, with some estimates putting the odds at one in two million "The medical centre was also mentioned.

Dr. Ana Abril Arias, who assisted in the delivery of the twins, said it was one of the most remarkable births of her career. "It was a real delight to assist these tiny ones in safety arriving in 2021 and 2022." What a fantastic way to ring in the New Year!"

This isn't the first time it's happened in recent memory, though. An Indianapolis mom made waves earlier this year after her twins were born in separate decades! Yes, because twins Joslyn and Jaxon were born just 30 minutes apart, they not only had completely different birth dates of December 31 and January 1, but they also had completely different birth dates of December 31 and January 1, which marked the start of a new decade with 2020. Many joked that they were years apart.
