Jammu & Kashmir: Following a cordon and search operation in the village of Botingoo, the Sopore Police detained two people on Wednesday who were reportedly affiliated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). Imtiyaz Ahmad Ganai and Waseem Ahmad Lone have been named as the two people who have been arrested, according to the local police. They admitted to working for LeT and intending to assault security personnel and residents in and around the Sopore area under the terrorist organization's direction during the interrogation. Waseem was employed as an Over Ground Worker whereas Imtiyaz was a hybrid terrorist (OGW). The Sopore Police stated that it has some reliable information regarding the presence of terrorists associated with the outlawed terrorist group LeT. Based on it, 22 Rashtriya Rifles, 179 BN CRPF, and Det Marcos conducted a cordon and search operation in Botingoo village. Imtiyaz was found to be in possession of a pistol, a pistol magazine, and eight pistol rounds, while Waseem was found to be in possession of a Chinese hand grenade, according to the police. The case has been registered in the Sopore Police Station under relevant provisions of law, the police said.
