Two women were killed and over 30 people were injured when the parapet wall of a building collapsed, minutes ahead of YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy's election rally at Mandapeta town in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday. A woman standing on the ground identified as Pilli Ramulamma, 50, suffered a severe head injury and died on the spot. Another woman identified as Suramma, 65, also sustained a grievous head injury and breathed her last while being shifted to a hospital. The injured were rushed to a local government hospital and some private hospitals. Jagan consoled the injured at the hospitals. The condition of some who suffered head injuries is stated to be critical.
