Uma Bharti Dismisses Digvijay Singh's Remarks on Ram Lalla Idol, Calls Them Insignificant

Bhopal: Following Congress leader Digvijay Singh's comments on the newly installed idol of Shri Ram Lalla at Ayodhya's Ram Temple, senior BJP leader Uma Bharti dismissed Singh's remarks, stating that his words have lost importance. Uma Bharti suggested that individuals who speak unnecessarily should not be given attention.

Digvijay Singh sparked controversy ahead of the "Pran Pratishtha" ceremony at Ayodhya Ram Mandir by stating that the Ram Lalla idol placed in the temple does not resemble a child. Uma Bharti, addressing the media, remarked that Singh has a habit of making various statements, and it's best not to waste time discussing such individuals.

Digvijay Singh, earlier in the day, questioned the need for a second statue of Lord Ram, expressing dissatisfaction with the appearance of the idol being installed in the temple. He referred to the suggestion of Guru Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Ji Maharaj for the idol to depict Lord Ram as a child in the lap of Mother Kaushalya.

In preparation for the Ayodhya Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony on January 22, the idol of Lord Ram was positioned inside the temple's sanctum sanctorum on Thursday. The unveiling of the idol's first photo took place during the placement ceremony, revealing a 51-inch tall, 1.5-tonne idol carved by sculptor Arun Yogiraj from Karnataka. The depiction portrays Lord Ram as a five-year-old child standing on a lotus made from the same stone.

The Pran Pratishtha ceremony is scheduled for January 22, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi performing rituals. Lakshmikant Dixit and a team of priests will lead the main rituals, and the ceremony will be attended by various celebrities and notable personalities.
