Ranchi: Four individuals lost their lives after being struck by the Kalinga Utkal Express train near Gamharia Railway Station in Jharkhand's East Singhbhum on Thursday evening, according to an official statement. The tragic incident occurred around 7 pm, and Tatanagar Junction Superintendent Abhishek Singhal reported that the bodies were discovered in a deteriorated condition.

"It appears that one of the bodies is that of a woman, but none of them have been identified yet," Singhal commented. However, as of Friday, two of the bodies have been identified as Ravindra Kumar Das and Jai Ram Rai. The remaining two bodies are yet to be identified. Tatanagar Junction Superintendent Abhishek Singhal stated that the deceased individuals did not use the Foot Over bridge (FOB) while crossing the track.

"It was dark, and it was difficult for the Loco Pilot to discern what was on the track," the Superintendent explained. "The weather was fine, and visibility was good. It does not seem that fog could be a reason behind the deaths." The official also emphasized the importance of caution when crossing the tracks.

"Locals have also not been able to identify the bodies. There were no survivors, just four bodies. No one has claimed the bodies yet," he added. Further details on the matter are awaited.
