UN- Antonio Guterres, the United Nation Secretary-General, has condemned the suspected drone attacks on Abu Dhabi's International Airport and a neighbouring industrial area in which two Indians and one Pakistani national were killed. On Monday, three persons were killed and six others were injured in a suspected Houthi drone attack near the Abu Dhabi airport, which resulted in multiple explosions in the UAE capital. According to authorities, the explosions were caused by "small flying objects," likely drones that collided with three petroleum tankers in Abu Dhabi. Guterres released a statement on Monday urging all parties to exhibit greatest patience and avoid any escalation amid rising tensions in the region. The attacks on Abu Dhabi's International Airport and the adjoining industrial Musaffah district, which purportedly resulted in multiple civilian casualties and were claimed by the Houthis, are condemned by the Secretary-General. International humanitarian law prohibits attacks on persons and civilian infrastructure, according to the statement. Guterres urged the parties to engage constructively and without preconditions with his Special Envoy Hans Grundberg and his mediation efforts in order to advance the political process and find a comprehensive negotiated resolution to end the war in Yemen. According to the Indian Embassy in the UAE, the mission is in contact with concerned UAE authorities for more information on the casualties.
