UP crime: Brothers kill father for trying to murder grandchild

LUCKNOW: In a bizarre incident, a farmer and his brother killed their father who was trying to kill his 10-day-old grand-daughter, police said on Friday. both the brothers have been arrested. The incident took place in U.P's Gosainganj area.

The Police said, Ramesh Chandra Rawat, aged 50, was found dead in his house with his throat cut earlier this week.

The FIR was filed by his sons Avadhesh (29) and Rajneesh (25), who reside in another house close by and claim that Ramesh was murdered by a local because of a previous grudge.

Police began questioning Avadesh's family members after discovering bloodstains at his home during the course of their inquiry.

Renu, the daughter of Ramesh, sobbed and admitted that her brothers killed their father.

Renu alleged that Ramesh was a habitual drinker and had a disliking towards girls. He was not happy with the birth of Avadhesh's daughter and they fought always at home.

The grandfather attempted to strangle his granddaughter on the day of the incident after a quarrel with his sons. Rahul Raj, the DCP for South Zone, said that Avadhesh cut his father's throat out of wrath.
