UP: Girl kills younger brother with the help of boyfriend

PRAYAGRAJ: A sixteen-year-old girl and her boyfriend have been detained for killing the girl's younger brother in the industrial area of Uttar Pradesh, Prayagraj. The boy's friend has also been arrested.

According to police sources, the girl and her boyfriend, who opposed to their relationship and had threatened to alert the parents, planned the murder of their brother.

The accused girl, a Class 5 dropout, had a 17-year-old boyfriend who is a Class 9 student when she abandoned her studies about three years ago. Anurag Yadav, a 12-year-old boy who was killed, was a Class 5 student,  police said.

"The police have arrested the three youngsters including the girl, her boyfriend, and his accomplice on accusations of strangling the child to death," said Superintendent of Police (Trans-Yamuna) Saurabh Dixit. " to protect the boy from his father's wrath after he had consumed non-vegetarian food during the ongoing Pitra Paksha, the accused sister brought him to a kutcha residence. There was already a waiting spot for her beau and his sidekick. They all choked the boy and hurried away" he said.

When their father found that both of the children were missing, he and his wife began searching for them. They saw the girl sitting in a corner of the kutcha hut and the son comatose on the floor. The youngster was taken to the hospital in a hurry, where staff members pronounced him dead. When the girl was questioned by the family and authorities, she claimed that two juveniles had beaten the youngster and run away.

Later, after lengthy questioning, she confessed to the crime. All three have been taken to a juvenile home after a FIR was lodged in accordance with the relevant laws.
