LUCKNOW: A photographer has been arrested after an 18-year-old girl alleged that he sexually harassed her at a photo studio in Lucknow.

The victim claimed she had to submit passport-sized photos for school, and she went to the studio close to her home in the Daliganj area of the city. 

Mahendra Jaiswal, the accused, is a photographer who works in Daliganj.

"Only Jaiswal was present in the photo studio. When he requested me to fix my "dupatta," I was seated in the studio area. I did so and sat on the chair. He then came over to me to make the adjustment himself and began to harass me sexually. I pulled him away and made an attempt to get away, but he yelled at me and threatened to kill me if I told anyone "Police were told by the victim.

She told her family about her trauma, and they filed an FIR at the Hasanganj police station.

Station House Officer Atul Kumar Srivastava said, a First Information Report has been filed against the accused on accusations of sexual harassment, using criminal force against a lady, and criminal intimidation in response to the victim's complaint.

The police are searching for the accused who is now absconding.
