UP Man kills brother after fight over a gun

BIJNOR :BIJNOR: A guy has been arrested in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor district for reportedly shooting his older brother after he tried to stop him from taking a gun to the fields.

According to Bijnor Superintendent of Police Dharamveer Singh, the accused Brajveer Singh was going to the fields with his licenced double-barrel pistol to scare away stray cattle.

Rupendra, his brother, attempted to stop him, which resulted in a fight between the two brothers, with Brajveer allegedly opening fire on the former.

Rupendra was shot in the stomach and was taken to the hospital, but he died from his injuries during treatment.  The gun went off inadvertently, according to the deceased's family relatives.

Brajveer was detained and charged under section 304 of the Indian Penal Code (punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder).
