Lucknow: The UP Police has filed a charge sheet under UAPA against Kerala journalist Siddique Kappan for plotting riots in connection with the gang rape and murder of a Dalit girl in Hathras in Uttar Pradesh. In Hathras's case, a team of UP STF was investigating the conspiracy of riots. The team has now filed a chart sheet under UAPA in the Mathura court. The charge sheet filed against the PFI and the 8 accused in the organization related to it includes the name of Siddique Kappan, Attikurrahman, Masood Ahmad, Rauf Sharif, Ansad Badruddin, Feroz, Danish. The next hearing of the case has been reported on 1st May 2021. In a total charge sheet of 5000 pages, UP STF has disclosed the conspiracy of riots in Hathras. According to the charge sheet, Siddique Kappan, arrested from Mathura, a riot thinks tank, and a member of the student wing of the PFI, Rauf Sharif was involved in the conspiracy and funding of the riots. The charge sheet filed by the UP police says that all the arrested accused wanted to provoke a riot in Hathras and were plotting for that. According to the charge sheet, Siddique Kappan plotted the riots, and PFI member Rauf Sharif who was working for funding the riots. In the charge sheet of 5000 pages, PFI members have been charged with getting an amount of Rs. 80 lakh from economic institutions in Muscat and Doha.
