Police rescue 3-day-old child, 2 kidnappers arrested

Ghaziabad: Two people suspected of abducting a newborn infant were apprehended in a hamlet in Uttar Pradesh's Hapur district following a brief confrontation, police said.

They said the youngster was released within 10 hours after the abduction. The two suspects have been identified as Vijay alias Rahul, a eunuch, and Prince, according to Senior Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar. Menu (24), a Murad Nagar lady, gave birth to a boy kid on Thursday at Community Health Centre (CHC). According to the SSP, she discovered her kid was gone on Saturday morning and a case was filed based on her husband Sandip's allegation under Section 363 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Residents of Surana hamlet, outside the CHC, stopped the Delhi-Meerut highway near Murad Nagar town, asking that the kid be rescued.

On Saturday night, the Special weapons and tactics team and Murad nagar police arrested Vijay and Prince from Badnauli village and rescued the child. During the investigation, it was found that the accused visited the CHC where the eunuch posed himself as a pregnant lady. After decamping from CHC with the child, they reached Badnauli and distributed sweets among their neighbors, saying they had been blessed with male child.
