LUCKNOW: Samajwadi Party Member of the Legislative Council and former BJP minister, Swami Prasad Maurya's personal secretary Sajjad and a dozen others have been booked for molestation of a Dalit woman and attempt to murder her brothers in the Gomti Nagar area of Lucknow. The accused have also been arrested under Schedule Case/Schedule Tribe Act.
The incident took place late on October 9 at the home of the former minister at Vipul Khand in Gomti Nagar, the complainant alleged
She claimed that when she got to Maurya's house, Sajjad was seated in the same room as the former minister. She said that when Sajjad saw her, he yelled at her and complained to the former minister that she had been pursuing him for the previous two days.
Sajjad and his men pointed pistols at me and my brothers, she said. Fortunately, my brother was spared when the guard's bullets missed when they fired at him. She said that Sajjad even tore my younger sister's clothes while the private guards beat me.
She said that a government gunman forced her and her family to sit in their car after saving them. She claimed that Sajjad tried to rape both her and her sister, who was accompanied with her.
However, MLC and SP Leader Swami Prasad Maurya said that Sajjad was only an unemployed teenager running with him and not a member of his staff. He declared, "A case has been filed, and the law must run its course.
